i hear there used to be a bike rpeair shop too many many years ago ( not chalfont home stores !)

top of the market place past the offy - (over the road) the vale i think second shop along was a bicycle come toy shop family run for years, can't remember the name at the moment.

I used to work at Botts on a saturday in 1958 when I was 15. Got 7/6 for mornings and 12/6 all day..........

"Chalfont Cycles" 25 Market Place-Owned by Jack Hearn and Peggy Draycott.They left Chalfont in about '85 to open a B&B in Blandford,leaving Peg's son John in charge.Sold up about '87.I worked there every Saturday and holiday from the age of twelve untill they closed.Fond memories.Always remember being sent down to Claydons for a pint of pigeon milk,knew it was a wind up but Peg was so convincing.Old Tom Claydon just gave me a wry smile and told me to tell her he had'nt had time to milk them yet.

Didn't the pet shop become Chalfont Home Stores and then move down to the current location, which used to be Cargo (and it's previous incarnation).

yes, and gsilvester did work there but as i recall he use to wait for me to pick him up on a sunday and take him to the jolly farmers
