I posted a rather long letter from them elsewhere (unformatted interestingly)
The nitty gritty for us I feel is the following extract:
The design of
the tunnel, along with the construction method adopted by Tesco’s contractors,
is currently under close scrutiny by a number of independent experts. They
expect to complete their work towards the end of next week - we will keep you
updated on progress.
After
completing their detailed tests, checks and analysis, they will submit a formal
proposal to Network Rail, the Heath and Safety Executive (HSE) and Her Majesty’s
Railway Inspectorate (HMRI). It is the decision of these
organisations that will determine the future of the tunnel.
Whatever the
recommendations turn out to be, you can be assured that safety comes
first. No trains will run through Gerrards Cross until we are
convinced it is safe to do so.
Chiltern
Railways will be fully briefed on the analysis carried out, along with the
conclusions reached and will have the chance to question and challenge all
areas.
