Our road has recently signed up for Neighbourhood Watch and we now receive regular bulletins and updates on local initiatives.  I also went to a very informative meeting and can recommend being involved.  There is an excellent coordinator in the village who would like to get all roads signed up and active to help prevent crime.  I don't wish to publicly put their email out there, so PM me if you want their details to sign your road up.  They don't do social media though!!

Burglary Alert

There have been a number of burglaries in The Chalfonts between the 8th January and 10th January 2018.  These have occurred in Layters Green Lane, Hillside Close, Monument Lane and Lower Road in Chalfont St Peter, Stable Lane in Seer Green and Fleetwood Close in Chalfont St Giles.

The burglaries have occurred during the daytime and early evening, with entry to the properties from the rear.  A vehicle was also taken from the burglary in Monument Lane, Chalfont St Peter.

Crime prevention advice includes, leaving a light on during the early evening if you are out, or use a timer switch.  With the properties being targeted from the rear consider using outside lighting and lock side gates to prevent easy access to the rear.

Consider installing an alarm at your property with a visible alarm box.  Chiltern District Council have a list of approved alarm companies which you can access via their website.

Keep all valuables and keys out of sight and out of reach of doors and windows.

Do not give the opportunist the opportunity!

Admin Note : The vehicle stolen I see on social media was a Ford RS Focus - very distinctive if you see it around.
